Second Plan - Terms and Definitions

This software uses some terms to describe workflow and features which may carry different meanings in other environments.

  • Shift - A time period during a workday allocated for one employee.
    Example: If two employees are scheduled to work from 8am - 12am, the program represents this as two shifts.


  • Availability - A time period during which an employee is available to work. Availability times are not bound to a specific date, but a day of week. The program assumes that the employee is able to work at the specified days and times each week, unless an Exception is provided.


  • Exception Time - Exceptions can be defined to indicate specific dates at which the employee is not available, overriding availability.
