Jade Empire RSS Scholar Widget

Jade Scholar is a Yahoo Widget Engine ¹⁾ Widget that can bring the latest Jade Empire forum topics right to your desktop by from the BioWare Community RSS feeds.

Presentation of the last 10 topics in the RSS stream is done by one of several selectable character from Jade Empire.

This widget is compatible with both Mac and Windows versions of Konfabulator 2.x as well as Yahoo Widget Engine 3.x

• Item numbering - items can now optionally be numbered based on their order in the stream to aid navigation.
• Stream navigation - if more than 10 items are in a stream, you can now move up and down in the topics window.
• Show or hide Avatar option.
• Tooltips now show feed item details text.
• Data caching added to prevent flooding the rss host with unneccessary requests (i.e. when navigating the stream with the newly added next/prev links)
• Userdefined RSS streams are now supported.
• Get the latest Jade Empire forum topics right to your desktop.
• Select from several characters (Scholar Ling, Furious Ming, Wu the Lotus Blossom, Kang the Mad, Henpecked Hou or Death Hand).
• Select from all Jade Empire RSS streams, as well as the general BioWare news.
• Configurable rss polling interval.
• Show or hide the forum topic window with one button click.

• Clicking on the avatar will toggle show / hide for the forum window.
• You can move the widget around by holding crtl and clicking on it.
• There is a “refresh current feed” option in the context menu (right click) of the avatar.
• Topic titles may not fit into the window, but the tooltip for the topic always holds the full title.
• Apart from the Jade Forums, you can also watch the BioWare News RSS.
• To select different feeds or avatars, just right click on the current Avatar and select “Widget Settings”.
• You can change opacity and behavior (on top / behind windows / etc) for any Konfabulator widget on the “window” tab of the configuration dialog.
• You can make a copy of the .widget file under a different name if you want to run more than one instance, i.e. to watch several forums at the same time (example).

Like any other Konfabulator widget, just download the .widget file into your My Widgets folder (below My Documents) and double click it to run it.
