Neverwinter Nights Downloads

nwnlogo.jpg

his page is dedicated to the custom content I created for the CRPG Neverwinter Nights, before joining BioWare 1) to work on the official Expansion Packs as a Designer 2).

Almost every piece of content on this page is 'plug and play', meaning simply importing the package into your module is usually enough to use it's content in your game, no expert scripting knowledge required.

Importing Custom Content

Importing custom content into a module is easy, but if you are not familiar with the process, please see my page on how_to_install_custom_content for details on how to import .erf files into your module.

The short version: Use 'File → Import' in the toolset menu.

Content Packs

ontent packs combine interactive objects, NPCs or scripted systems into a single, easy to install .erf package, ready to be imported and used in a module. Most of these packages come with easy to understand installation instructions and usually do not require knowledge of the scripting language by the user.

Graveyard Ambience Pack

File Size Description Screen(s)
dom_gyard.zip
~ 80 kb
This package contains placeables, triggers and sound make a more interactive graveyard.
Useable graves, Gravestones with random inscriptions, many interactive placeables, ambient triggers and much more (see detailed description). I have done everything to ensure this package uses as few different script files as possible.

Persistent Visual Effects Pack

File Size Description Screen(s)
vfx.zip
~ 73 kb
This package adds 26 new Visual Effect Placeables to NWN so module builders have access to a wider array of ambient visual effects (like webbed areas or placeables). They all share the same script so only two new scripts are added to the module when importing. All effects are visual (and some sound) only, no damage or any other effects are attached. All effects are by default attached to invisible objects but some look damn nice when you change the appearance of the invisible object (i.e. an overgrown wagon if you change the appearance of the tanglevine object to 'wagon'). vfx.jpg

Siege Weapons Pack

siegew.zip

DAoC Style Quest Pack

File Size Description Screen(s)
daoc_questp1.zip

This package features all required components to recreate the classic Throatripper Quest from the MMORPG Dark Age of Camelot. The quest is party and PW compatible and written in typical MMO style (players can take it together or solo)

Portal Network

One of my first scripts (and certainly somewhat crude), this package adds an auto connecting network of portals to your module to allow quick travel between location. A number of configuration options is available inside the file. portalnet.jpg

Interactive Placeables

nteractive placeable objects are designed to add choice and activity to a module, by providing the player with interesting distractions while exporing a module. Almost all of the downloads listed in this section are of the 'import and play' variety, meaning that they are ready to be used in your module after importing, no scripting required.

Interactive Placeable combo pack

File Size Description Screen(s)
interactive1.zip
~ 9 kb
This collection features 14 of the standard NWN Placeables with scripts attached to their on used events in order to make them operatable by the players. Uses only a single script to prevent cluttering the module with scripts and to make modifications easy. This pack contains updated versions of some of the placeables listed below. interactive1.jpg

Powderkegs!

File Size Description Screen(s)
pkeg.zip
~ 25 kb
Ultima VI style powderkegs for your module or world. Adds portable powderkegs to your world that can be detonated by lighting a fuse to blow up doors or use as special combat. NPCs with enough intelligence to identify the threat will react appropriately. Dealing fire damage to the object can cause premature detonation. As of patch 1.64, this script is part of the offical game resources in the HotU campaign. pkeg.jpg
pkeg2.zip ~ 9 kb Version 2.0 re-release edited by Xeno. This version has several improvements to the scripts, including better AI reaction, knockdown on affected creatures and better handling of the plot flag.

Ambient NPCs

mbient NPCs are creatures with simple or complex behavior scripting ready to be placed in your module.

The Lumberjack

File Size Description Screen(s)
woodcutter.zip
~ 41 kb
The original lumberjack is one of the first scripts I ever created for NWN 3). THe Lumberjack NPC has a 24/7 schedule and can be dropped down in a module together with a number of placeable objects (Camp bedroll, respawning trees, etc). He will sing, chop wood, eat, complain and go to sleep. woodcutter.jpg
woodcutter166.zip
~ 49 kb
Improved version updated for patch 1.66 and using a new, state driven scheduling system that is much less cpu intensive.

The Healer

File Size Description Screen(s)
healer.zip
~ 36kb
For some reason this was the most downloaded piece of NWN content on my website for a long time. This package contains a Healer NPC that can be placed down into a module and will offer healing, cure and restoration services to the players. The costs for these services can be configured in an include file. healer.jpg

Tag playing children

Misc. Content

isc. Content that fits into no other category.

File Size Description Screen(s)
t1_trg_slipfall.zip
~ 3 kb
This is an example trigger that forces player characters to perform a Dexterity check. On failure, the 'slip' and fall to the ground, taking minor damage. This trigger is an implementation of a pen and paper mechanic in the original T1 - The Village of Hommlet module.

Deprecated

eprecated content is mainly downloads that have been made obsolete by official additions to the game or by fundamental changes in technology. You are still welcome to try these out if you feel like it.

Inventory Spy

File Size Description Screen(s)
dom_invspy.zip
~ 47 kb
NWN's DM client originally lacked the crucial ability for DMs to inspect and alter player inventory. Inventory Spy was created to work around this issue and was featured in the original BioWare Witch's Wake module . Today it is no longer of use as BioWare added the ability to modify inventory to the DM client with a later patch, but you can still download it here. dom_invspy.jpg

Other

1) NWN pre version 1.65, but all content should still work as NWN is backwards compatible
